Hatua in Kenya
'Hatua' generally means 'decision' in swahili, but it also means opportunity, promise, development, and action which combined seem to describe my experience here. I'm doing film work at an organization in Nairobi. But part of the assignment entails traveling a lot, which I love. In my free time, I go "home" to Kisumu in Western Kenya to spend time with my adopted family, where I stayed for 2.5 months last year.

I am so sad I just learned about this blog more than half way through your trip. However I am so glad I got the chance to see it! Honestly my only thought after seeing the pictures and reading all your comments is what a wonderful and amazing woman you are! What you are doing is so admirable! You honestly made me want to be there with you!!! Keep up the good work! When the video is done, I would LOVE to see it!!
Keep the updates coming! I miss you!
